Restoration - 1970 Olds 442 W30
Now and then we take a detour from the day-to-day of the second generation Trans Am’s. This was one of those times we just couldn’t resist. Here is a one owner W-30 442 with 40k original miles. Owned by a school teacher in Iowa, it was ordered with nearly every option available to the 1970 model. The only two exceptions include the 8-track FM and the aluminum light weight rear end. What initially started as a top-end detail quickly turned into a total frame-off restoration. Unfortunately, we don’t have very many “before” shots of the car body. It is very solid with no rust or body work. Both the drive train and engine still had visible colored inspection markings. We documented the location and color shades of each marking for their reapplication.
