Between 1996 and 2002 the Firehawk Trans Am set a new mark for style and performance. These highly collectable Pontiacs quickly became a favorite among Trans Am enthusiasts.
2010 TRANS AM FIREHAWK TRIBUTE
On the eve of production of the Kevin Morgan designed and licensed Trans Am, Morgan and Trans Am Depot were commissioned to build their version of the Firehawk using their new production design. The owner of this 2010 Trans Am Firehawk has the largest collection of Firehawks in existence and a muscle car collection of over 300 show cars. The challenge given to Morgan and Trans Am Depot was to design and build a one-off “Firehawk” that would respectively honor and pay tribute to both the Firehawk name and legacy.
The hood was hand painted by the famous Mike Lavallee of Killer Paint, Snohomish, WA. Lavallee is widely known for “True-Fire” a name used to accurately describe his ability to create realistic 3-D appearing flames. The hood design's original inspiration actually came from a campfire photograph taken by Katie Ward, that captured a striking, almost eerie resemblance to a “Firehawk”. When seen by brother-in-law Kevin Morgan, he knew instantly how and where this unique image could be used. The rest they say... is history. Now you know the rest of the story.
Further styling and painting was performed by Mike McGarvey of Tallahassee, FL, fabricator and painter for Trans Am Depot. The car was also fitted with t-tops, the first ever installed on a 5th generation Zeta platform. The interior was custom fitted with a two tone Rawlings baseball glove leather. A short throw Hurst shifter was installed behind the 650hp. 6.2 liter power plant.
