Events - 2006 Trans AM Nationals

Murphy’s law was in high gear the last few days leading up to the 2006 Trans AM Nationals. We took two of our most recent restoration cars, two 1979 Nocturne blue four speed's.  For me, the 13 hour drive began at 4:00pm and ended at 5:30am the next morning, arriving one day before the show. Scott left at 1:00am and arrived the next afternoon.  We spent the first day waxing and buffing beneath the shade of an oak tree with a few other fellow enthusiasts.

We met some of the guys from Trans AM Country and the Hoghead duo form Firebird and Trans AM Parts. Great guys and both have great web-sites.  The weather was nice up until Saturday night when the bottom fell out at the Tipp City cruise.  It was overcast Sunday and except for about 45 minutes of rain, it turned out to be a nice day.  For Trans AM Depot it was an especially nice weekend.  Both cars won first place in their class.  Stock CC 1979 - 1981 and Modified.  Scott’s car was put in modified because he sports ram air exhaust. Not stock for '79.  This was the first year since 1998 that either one of us had entered a car show.  Feels great to be back.
